Building a Safer Tomorrow Do you have a passion for constructing safer communities and ensuring that the infrastructure built today will improve our future. If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hydrovac CDL Operator. Operating our Hydrovac, you will play a vital role in ensuring our crews are safely and efficiently excavating in and around existing underground utilities. Hydrovac CDL Operator Pay Range: $35-45/hr (Subject to NYS Prevailing Wage) The Hydrovac Operator will spend seventy percent or more operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside of the truck performing non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables. Additional Hydrovac work will consist of tank entry, cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, basic truck maintenance and attending daily safety meetings. Please note that 50–60-hour work weeks should be considered the norm rather than the exception in this role. Skills and Experience Required
CDL-A or CDL-B driver's license is required with Tanker endorsement and no restrictions.
Properly document all Company, Federal, State, and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner.
Able to effectively and professionally communicate with on-sight personnel to locate least intrusive and safest place to park company equipment while on job sight.
Able to troubleshoot and as the need arises perform minor repairs to equipment.
Safety mindedness is essential.
Travel out of town and out of state to work will be required.
Must be able to lift, push, pull 60+ pounds and work heavy equipment.
Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Preferred
Previous Hydrovac, vacuum truck, underground utility or similar field experience is preferred.
Haz-Mat endorsement.
Strong knowledge of emergency processes and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Manual transmission (13-18 speed) experience.
Ability to work well under pressure.
