Traffic Control Laborer Pay Range: $21-$25/hr subject to Prevailing Wage

The Traffic Control Laborer will ensure the safety of workers, motorists and pedestrians by maintaining proper traffic control and following all safety guidelines and regulations. As a Traffic Control Specialist, you will be our front line of Safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Discusses traffic routing plans, and type and location of control points with superior.
Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones. Including warning signs, traffic cones, and rumble strips according to DOT regulations.
Directs movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
Warn construction workers when approaching vehicles fail to heed signals to prevent accidents and injuries to workers.
Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
Records license number of traffic control violators for police.
Gives hand marker to last driver in line up of one-way traffic for Flagger at opposite end of site, signaling clearance for reverse flow of traffic

Skills and Experience:

Required

Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical assessment test
Be able to lift 50 pounds
Physically capable of performing all flagging duties
Valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

Prior traffic control experience
Familiarity with job site safety protocols and procedures
